Wrights Chardonnay is a full bodied style. Lingering on the palate, with pear, lime and vanilla flavours. Appealing to lovers of both full oak and fruit driven styles.
This beautifully balanced wine has undergone partial malolactic fermentation and been aged in barrels for 9 months.
The grapes used for our Chardonnay were grown by us, using organic and biodynamic techniques. The grapes are fully certified organic through Asurequality from our Valley Vineyard.
Gisborne is known as Chardonnay capital of New Zealand – and rightly so. Our soils are clay rich, which give lovely mineral characters in our wines, Our summer help ripen the grapes and with limited rain fall, we concentrate the flavours. Our valley vineyard is probably one of the hottest grape growing regions in Gisborne and cooler nights as being located in a valley, help retain lovely acidity. Enjoy!
