This Pinot Gris was harvested from our east facing Block Eight vineyard . This is a clay and sandstone slope, approximately 190m above sea level, at the base of Mount Donald. The vines are spur pruned with a vertically shoot positioned trellis. Extensive leaf plucking and crop thinning is administered. Bellbird Spring vineyard practises are in compliance with the organic standards of BioGro New Zealand.
Grapes were hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, racked and fermented with indigenous yeast in old barriques. Lees aged for 5 to 6 months, then bottled.
